Pokémon Go Easter Event kicks off TOMORROW giving players the best chance to find rare characters

CHECK OUT THE LATEST POKEMON GO! UPDATE
Easter is a time for eggs - and that hasn't escaped the notice of Niantic Labs, creators of the hit mobile game Pokémon Go .
The company is hotly tipped to launch a special Easter Event that looks likely to kick off tomorrow.
Like previous Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving events, the Easter event will last for a week and give players a handy boost .
They will receive double the XP and, of course, a better chance of hatching a rare Pokémon from one of their eggs.

The likes of Snorlax and Lapras can be hatched from eggs that require players to walk a specific distance while playing the game.
News of the Easter event was posted on Pokémon Go fan site The Silph Road by a group known as Team Eevolution.
"From tomorrow, there will be a DOUBLE EXPERIENCE EVENT that will last a week. There will also be better egg hatch rates. This means that there will be more chances of rare Pokemon coming out as Lapras or Snorlax more easily," the group posted on the site .
It's important to note, however, that there has been no official announcement from Niantic regarding any special changes to the game.

The last we heard from the developers was that the 'Legendary' Pokémon would be arriving in the game by the end of the year.
“We’re going to take advantage of the wearables that exist today while we wait and work with partners to bring to market A.R. glasses and other forms of advanced A.R. technology," Niantic CEO John Hanke recently told a German newspaper.
“With Pokemon Go, we’re only getting started with the game.”

Hatching (Easter) eggs

Meanwhile, Pokemon Go data miners have cracked how the Generation 2 egg tier works.
Hatching certain species from an egg has always been a bit of a mystery. However, the people at the Silph Road have worked out how things work.

A player's phone is decorated with Pokemon stickers

“Egg species is determined according to hidden rarity 'tiers' that are not the same as the egg distance tiers (i.e. 2 km, 5 km, 10 km),” a new post explains.
“In simple English, this means that not all 10 km egg species are rarer than 2 km egg species or 5 km egg species. A simple example of this is that Dratini is presently a very common hatch, despite being in 10 km eggs.
“It is currently easier to acquire a 10 km egg with a Dratini inside than a 2 km egg with a Machop inside.”
Research done using a over 8,000 egg hatches has revealed that there might now be four rarity tiers in play, each twice as common as the one before.

New storyline gives lapsed ‘Pokémon Go’ players a reason to reinstall

The  Pokémon Go craze has definitely fizzled out over the last year or so, with several key promised features still not released yet, but lapsed trainers now have a reason to reinstall the game again. This week, new “field research” quests add narrative to what has largely been a player-driven multiplayer experience thus far. “A series of mysterious happenings is occurring all over the world, and Professor Willow is seeking trainers to help him found out if this is connected to the mythical Pokémon Mew,” Niantic said in an update post . “These research tasks will become available to trailers around the world later this week!” There will be two different categories of research during the event: “Field research” and “special research.” The former type can be triggered by visiting Pokéstops, and will task trainers with completing raids or gym battles or catching a certain type of Pokémon. Special research missions are longer, with trainers having to complete several ...

Pokémon Sun and Moon - how and where to catch Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, Tapu Fini

The Guardian Tapu Pokémon are Sun and Moon's version of the typical sub-legendaries that have been a new-generation staple ever since the Legendary Dogs Suicune, Raichu and Entei, way back in gen two. They're some of the best Pokémon in the game, thanks to dedicated Z Moves, abilities, and excellent stats, and so well worth your time. Each Tapu acts as a guardian for it's own island - Tapu Koko for Melemele, Tapu Lele for Akala, Tapu Bulu for Ula'Ula , and Tapu Fini for Poni Island - and are all found in their island's corresponsing ruins: the Ruins of Conflict , Ruins of Life , Ruins of Abundance , and Ruins of Hope , respectively. A final warning, too: the Tapu are only catchable after you've completed the main storyline of Sun and Moon, and so major spoilers follow below. Check out our complete Pokémon Sun and Moon walkthrough if you're still trying to finish it! Where to find and how to catch Tapu Koko - the Ruins of Conflict Tapu Ko...

Curious announcement in Pokémon GO Live’s Newsletter – Event starting April 10?!

Trainers, in the past few hours, some trainers have reported receiving a very curious email Newsletter from Pokémon GO Live, and we have managed to put our hands on it (thanks to pokeRangerCam, one of our Discord members) The Newsletter covers a variety of topics ranging from the recent addition of Research, the Pokémon GO Earth Day Cleanup, April Community Day (our guide here ), Gym Leader Avatar clothing, to a spotlight on Nidos Pokémon GO Argentina . However, the curious announcement we are referring to consists of three very short lines at the very end of the Newsletter. The announcement goes as follows: Trainers, starting April 10, we’ll be hosting a special celebration in honor of the Kanto region in Pokémon GO! Keep your eyes on the official Pokémon GO website and social media channels for more information surrounding this event. As we all know, it doesn’t take much for the Pokémon GO community to speculate, but such a vague statement certainly allows peo...
