Pokemon GO News: Fans await Easter Event as Niantic confirm NEW support to tackle spoofers DS
Pokemon GO's new Twitter support page reveals new "functionality to stop spoofing" is coming
Pokemon GO fans are currently awaiting for Niantic to (hopefully) announce a new Pokemon GO event to mark the upcoming Easter holidays.
However, while any sort of announcement appears to be on ice until Niantic officially comes out and says anything, fans can celebrate one new addition to the game.
Niantic has confirmed that the new Twitter account, @NianticHelp, is an official legitimate customer support account of Niantic, Inc aimed at helping players with issues across both Pokemon GO and fellow AR mobile game ingress.
As if this wasn't enough reason to celebrate, the Customer support account has already voiced some positive comments - and a potentially massive new feature - which could soon help with the games pesky Spoofing issues.
When one player tweeted the support account to voice frustration at a well-known spoofer who's been flagged numerous times already, the official Niantic account replied to say:
"Thanks for reporting. We’re working to add functionality to stop spoofing, and your reports are helping us with our investigations."
Not only is this good news to have some proper feedback from Niantic with regards to spoofers in general, but the prospect of further functionality in the game to help rid the game of spoofers will no doubt be music to the ears of die-hard Pokemon GO players.
The news of this added functionality coming to in the future follows some additionally intriguing comments from Niantic employee David Hollin, a game designer who recently spoke with the with A-to-J Connections YouTube channel.
Hollin many might recall as the "Save your Candy" guy and as well as clearing up what he meant when he said in earlier this year, he also shared a lot of interesting new information on the games current state, how heavily involved Niantic wants to be with fans and their future plans for the game.
We've dropped a link to the interview underneath but here are the big takeaways from the chat, complete with time stamps for when it was mentioned:
1. Legendary Pokemon: They're 100% still on the cards and in David's own words "are going to be pretty awesome!” [9:30]

2. Gen 3: The Niantic team is more focused on gameplay features than on adding new Pokemon. However, future generations are not being excluded. [10:00]

3. “Save your Candy”: Comment was misunderstood and was intended as advice for new players. [10:35]

4. Trading, PVP and Events: “There will be events obviously tied to the calendar year and there are things on the horizon which are Trading and PvP, but these are kinda more long term. In terms of short… hm… we’ll see.” [11:35]
And when it comes to short-term plans, Pokemon GO players will be hoping that they find out something with regards to a new Easter Event in the coming days.
Niantic has made it something of a tradition to launch new events around major holidays in the calendar, including , and .
As such a large portion of the community are convinced that Niantic will release something to mark the Easter break, and should they do so, most changes will likely take place server-side.
Previously  had reported that Niantic was considering "several possibilities" for the event with more than likely a repeat of Special Event abilities, including one or more of the following items:
• Double XP
• Double Stardust
• Increased Spawn Rate for certain otherwise-rare Pokemon
• Halved Pokemon Egg Distance Requirements
• New spawning of new Pokemon
• New spawning of Shiny versions of already-released Pokemon

Pokemon Go release BRAND NEW Plus trailer

According to a more recent Slashgear story, the website has a "yet-unproven source" who is suggesting that the rumoured Easter event would be introducing much more than double XP awards.
Instead, the site suggests that Niantic might be looking to follow up on their Shiny Magikarp roll out with more Shiny Pokemon.
"Easter Week might well bring about another Shiny Pokemon," writes SlashGear
"We’ve had a tip from a yet-unproven source which suggests that it’ll be Exeggcute – which would make a lot of sense given the double-whammy of a Pokemon that Pokemon is for this season.
1. Exeggcute is a Grass-Type Pokemon.
2. Exeggcute is a bunch of eggs.
3. There isn’t yet a real Easter Bunny Pokemon in the game.
4. Exeggcute isn’t overly common, nor is it super-rare."
