It appears that Pokemon Go has made it a lot easier for players to get evolutionary items. Earlier this year, Pokemon Go introduced
a handful of evolutionary items as part of its big "Gen 2" updates.
These items are necessary for certain Pokemon to evolve, but were
extremely rare....at least at first. Eventually, Pokemon Go changed
its drop rates so that players were guaranteed to get a evolutionary
item as part of their bonus for spinning a Poke Stop for seven
consecutive days.
Yesterday evening, Pokemon Go updated its GAME MASTER file, the server side file that controls most of the key functions of the game. Almost immediately, players noticed that evolutionary items began dropping at an increased rate. Some players even reported getting three evolutionary items as part of their "7 Day" Poke Stop bonus.
Any time there's a new GAME MASTER update, it opens up speculation that Pokemon Go is prepping for its next big update. Pokemon Go hasn't updated in nearly a month, so many fans feel that a new update is coming soon.
In unrelated news, Pokemon Go's "Spring Bloom" mini-event was still active as of Tuesday morning (Eastern time.) If you haven't had a chance to catch those rare Grass-Type Pokemon, you probably still have a few hours for one last catching trip before the Grass-Type Pokemon drop back to their normal spawn rates.
